Forensic Engineering & Failure Analysis

Our multi-disciplinary forensic engineering team investigates the root cause of a fire or loss and provides failure analysis for legal, manufacturing or insurance companies. Our engineers work under our licensed professional engineer, Jeremiah Pratt, P.E., and have experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, product design and risk-hazard analysis, appliance fires and failures, clothes dryer fires, kitchen range fires, design defects, and engineering design analysis. Additionally, our safety engineering expert, Michael Stoddard, is known around the country for his experience in dryer fire and kitchen range fire design safety and hazard analysis.

At Genesis Forensics, we strive to meet the highest of industry standards. We have recently obtained accreditation from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 for Forensic Inspection in the area of Fire and Explosion Origin and Cause Investigation, Forensic Engineering and Reporting*. Additionally, our forensic engineering and failure analysis experts are all Certified Fire Investigators (CFEI, CFI, and/or CVFI), offering our clients a more thorough perspective from start to finish. Some of our clients choose to use the same expert in our firm for the origin and cause investigation and the forensic engineering phase because it offers consistency and cost-effectiveness. With every case we take on, our experts work together in a team approach to analyze the details and offer alternative views to ensure the most thorough investigation. All formal reports receive a technical and administrative review by other members of the team prior to client delivery so you can be confident that you will receive a thorough analysis.
